Depends really. A Turbo 2000 with 208bhp was rated at 6.5 sec by Subaru, but I think quite a few mags had them in the high 5's. A P1 with more power was clocked just under 5 seconds. So this should give you a ball park figure.

But it really depends on how hard you want to drive it and how grippy the surface and tyres are and how good your clutch is.

Besides 0-60mph really doesn't tell that much about a car, except maybe its amount of grip off the line.

0-100mph, 30-70mph or 1/4 ET and trap speed are much more useful if trying to compare to another vehicle.

Example:

Impreza P1 0-60mph 4.9 seconds
Corvette C6 z06 0-62 in 4.3 seconds

Look pretty even don't they?

However over a 1/4 mile the Corvette has the ability to trap 126mph compared to the P1 of probably more like 103-105mph.

This would equal several bus lengths.

The car when it was new would probably run 0-60mph somewhere in the 5s, with a good driver. Add to that the fact the car is a few years older now and also driver ability....

Disagree with 4.3s vs 4.9s being close.

0-60mph and 1/4mile (times+traps) are both good benchmarks for performance.

The thing to watch is that Impreza's being AWD have very good (low) 0-60mph times. But in the real world how often do you get to to that?

Much more common would be 10-70mph or 20-80mph from a roll. Suddenly all the AWD advantage is lost.

Yeah but if you're stupid enough to race in the wet then you shouldn't be on the road.

The early wrx's were 240 bhp not 260!

Not strictly true. Both could run the same time with different trap speeds and be dead equal over the line. No buses involved.

Really?

If you're crossing the line with 126mph traps at the same ET as a 103mph trap car you ain't doing something right, either that or have no grip at all.

I do hear what you are saying, but in terms of speed difference in that example a C6 z06 would *** rape the P1 in the 1320. Some stock z06's have gone high 10's where as the P1 is more mid/low 13's out of the box.

Wasn't necessarily talking about your example. I've seen it plenty of times, i,e this Sunday at Crail, a nutter had stuck a 450BHP engine in a bogo Nissan Almera, was only running mid 13's but ET'ing at 130 odd, all down to grip issues.
