Default Engine check light

Can anybody help, bought my impreza a couple of weeks ago and the engine check light keeps flashing on and off. It comes on after its warmed up and stays on when you are driving around town as soon as you get on the motorway it goes off. it has been to a couple of garages and one was a subaru specialist and they have said that they cant read the code. HELP!!!!!

Hmmm not sure, could be way off but is it the alternator?

Not sure if the engine light comes on for that sort of thing but if it changes as your revs increase then it could very well be that...

EDIT: think about the above, that cannot be possibel. forget my suggestions

I'm with Dan ,a subaru dealer that couldn't read the code is odd imo.

For classic imprezas Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Reading ECU Fault Codes

For any other version you can download some software and use that (you need a connecting cable)
