Default lightweight air-con prototype

Been spending a bit of time designing this and would like to know what you think.

I have found a way to replace the pulley without de-gassing and removing the unit .

I haven't done any fancy design or anything but it is very light- I know it doesn't look it ,

The hub part at the front isn't needed, it's just to cover the whole part up. The original part with the three weight rotating parts is still used, it's just underneath

Any comments would be appreciated

As long as it does the job, and the weight is reduced ...... It is fulfilling the function you have made it for

BTW what weight saving is there on the unit, and I guess they can come anodised ?

Give it a couple of weeks peeps, when they have been tested and im back with my AA tag

Yes it would be more weight saving if you removed the air-con unit altogether , but I like my air con as im sure other do

Count me in too !
I'm having a noisy bearing and was told the wheel could not be taken of ?

Guess this was wrong then, as showed, it is possible.

In this way I could save myself some weight... and a new air con pump !!!

Yeah, asking myself that question also...

The connections are somewhat different, so you cant interchange one to another, but it's more the diameter of the bearing that has to be 35mm spot on !

Guess I have to go "spannering" tomorrow..

More progress on these now , they are nearly ready ...

The front of the pulley still needs to be inserted to make the pulley work , but as you can see there is a thin steel plate inserted into the front of the pulley to allow the magnet to pick the pulley up

Creepy : if you haven't removed your pulley I now know how to do it for classics , and no they are different
