Strange heater problem

Hi Guys,

My heater is behaving very strangley....
The car is well up to temp, and it still blows F cold........
Then it will burst into life for no reason ?
Any ideas ?

Have you checked your coolant level?Similar thing happened to me following a service!I din't check the coolant level and it overheated.

Andy,

Mine has the opposite effect, it blows hot all the time unless you set the temp to the lowest and then it blows too cold. There's nothing in between, I think there's a sensor somewhere that's knackered.

Sounds like a low coolant problem as the heater is the highest point in the system... so it is full of air most of the time and then gets some water through and hence heats up...

Thanks guys, I'll check the coolant, its going to Scooby guru Mr Lawson next week anyway so I'll asl him to check it out.
