Default STI PPP looking to get it to 380+ BHP

Hi,

I have an 04 STI PPP. I am looking to get it to 380+ BHP.
I have spoken to a couple of scooby specialists and i have decided to go for a TD05 20g turbo with Gt spec Headers and full 3" exhaust with an ecutek remap.

Will i have to change any other parts?? i.e fuel pump, fuel reg., injectors etc...?

Can you recommend a place where i can buy the turbo, headers.... from?

Regards

Harry

Who did you speak to mate?

Lets assume the car is running 280-90bhp, because hardly any sti ppp run the claimed 300, then thats a big leap, expect to throw a lot of money to get that near on 90-100 extra BHP.

Andyf does turbo's on his site;
AndyForrestPerformance

and you'd not go far wrong getting his advice either, top man. Answered all my questions.

Level 3 360-390 bhp

Full Decat turbo back 3” bore exhaust system
Tubular exhaust headers and flow matched uppipe
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K+N panel filter
Ecutek custom remap
Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car
NGK PFR 7B uprated spark plugs
Fuel Lab turbo specification fuel pressure regulator with fitting kit & gauge
AFP 05-20G custom turbo charger modified to fit with tgv delete

Plenty of specialists out there so have a ring round. Andy Forrest, Lateral Performance, Zen, Tracktive to name a few off the top of my head.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think PPP'd cars already have a uprated 255 l/hr fuel pump as its part of the PPP package.

Just for the record mine is a 05 STI PPP car with a proven 301.9bhp and 307.1 lb/ft (and that was on 97ron fuel).

Wolfie.

Wolfie.

The ppp are meant to have a walboro and 99.9% of them do, however its been noted on here that some lads have found out they were never fitted once they had a looksee.

Correct me if Im wrong, but mine only got around 290bhp

Even when remapped it got 320 but only 300lbs of torque, so yours has more than mine there (torque wise) - is yours a blob or hawk ....Hawks tend to get more, but looking at your torque im assuming its a blob - that 2.5ltr engine produces some nice torque

The last bit I included on my previous post is taken from Andyf's website concerning engines tuning upgrades, should give the OP a good idea of what is needed.

swifty mate, how much would you say it cost you to take it from 300hp+ to what it is now?

Mines at 320 but like Harryr34 Im interested about doing this possibly sometime next year, it must really fly, liking thoses esty timimgs btw

ps; are the sti gearbox and clutch strong enough for that power and torque, or did you do anythign with those too?

turbo td05 20g was around £1000
turbo back 3" exhaust was about £800 (but you can get cheaper)
gt spec 2 headers were £350 including delivery
fuel pressure reg was £200+ (that includes pipes)
inwing induction was £170
i replaced fuel pump for peice of mind was £80
ngk pfr7b £30

total £2630ish then mapping on top so you don't get much change from £3000

but to do md321h that turbo is around £1500
then you'd need injectors at £450
samco inlet at £200
but you don't need fuel reg be best to have it but not essencial so above adds £1150 so your looking at £4000 total

the newage gearbox can take well over 500bhp i'm still on standard clutch but its torque that kills clutchs not bhp and i don't do any launchs hope above helps
