sick and tired of being fobbed off sti steering rattle
Having phoned IM regarding my 07sti and its tendancy to rattle through the steering rack,i have been told that it's a "carectoristic" of the model and rack set-up,im getting pretty sick and tired of this type of fob off used by IM and the dealership network in general
Having spoken to a few local owner's,and a couple up and down the country, the general view is that not all of the 06/07 sti's have this rattle, only the minority, and i have come to the end of my "extended teather" so to speak
Basically, all im after is a 12 month old car, that has been lovingly maintained for all its natural life to give me driving pleasure and serve its master well without the need to clatter and bang everytime i take a right hand corner over slightly un-even ground
now the car has "supposidly" had a new rack fitted, but the exact same noise/rattle remains, spoken to IM 4-5 time's and keep getting the old
"not something we have heard about before"
or
"its a caractoristic" gubbin's
Enough is enough
so,to stop blowing hot air,my question is simple
Does anyone else have this issue with there hawkeye's or 05sti's ??????
Has anyone got the problem solved ??????
Does anyone know what is causing the problem ?????
please help guy's,as im loosing faith with the badge, and that scare's the crap outta me
cheers marcus

Does the rattle come from the engine bay or interior plastics?
I have a rattle from the steering wheel-column-dashboard plastics sometimes (fortunately very infrequent) in my 07 WRX. It's more like a squeak rather than rattle.
I have a rattle coming from the passenger's rear door card that annoys me more and not sure how to solve this.

Does anyone know the address of Subaru main office in Benelux? They are responsible for any warranty queries and if you have problems with any dealers or warranty issues you should write to them. I did the same about a dealer in Sweden and France that were rubbish but the letter came back. If anyone knows the corerct address please let me know. They are going to teach the useless dealers a lesson if you have any problems. Take action now!

Mine does it!! MY05 Sti.
Exactly as you decribe....it's when you are turning over uneven ground and there's a rattly, clunking noise comes up through the steering column.
It only happens ocasionally, sometimes when there's bumps mid-bend on the inside wheel.
Annoying isn't it??
