Sorry to bring this post up again, but...
Has anyone had problems with loosing power or getting the air box to seal correctly after putting a ZS pipe in?
I put one on my 04 WRX a couple of weeks ago and have now taken it off.
To start with the top of the air box was being pushed back and up which caused air to leak in from the back when on high boost. I fixed this by fitting the air box lid 1st, and then putting the ZS pipe on.
After this I was 100% convinced the air box was sealed and the ZS pipe was not pushing anything. After struggling to overtake an Audi A4 TDi at the weekend the ZS pipe came off and I put the standard black pipe back on. Hey presto all my power was back.
The car seemed to boost fine with the ZS pipe on, but just had no get up and go. It was also sluggish in lower gears where normally 2nd is rapid.
When I took the ZS pipe off I also turned my air filter round by 180 (I don’t really know why) but there was a strong smell of petrol from inside the filter box.
Am I not fitting this bl**dy thing correctly or is it just pants?
