Exhaust and warranty advice please.
I'll keep it short.
55 plate Impreza STi PPP, Subaru warranty until Feb 2009. 11800 miles on the clock.
2 weeks ago today:
Whilst on a European driving holiday with some friends I split my turbo up-pipe, this was the only visible damage. I was recovered by Subaru Assistance to the nearest Subaru garage. The up-pipe had a **** poor repair, welded up without even removing it. Got a bill for 569.99 Euros. I was advised by Subaru UK Customer Services I will be refunded. Collected my car, wasn't fixed, missing gaskets. Nice quality repair by the Subaru main dealer.
Dropped my car into Welch's Subaru in Cambridge today. They said Subaru in Germany changed a part and put the broken gaskets back on the car. They produced a bill for £312 to repair my car. I was told Subaru warranty doesn't cover exhausts. Credit to Welch's they haven't charged me and are going to speak to Subaru tomorrow. I will be writing a strong letter to Suabru either way.
Now where do I stand with Subaru?
I've paid for the same work twice.
Their flagship performance model with the additional £1995 PPP and the exhaust didn't even last 12k miles.
To be honest, the Subaru name has now forever been tarnished by my past 2 weeks experience.
Any advice is very much appreciated.
