Question

Hi Guys

Does anyone know the UK equivalent of a WRX STi Version 4 (1998 R reg).

Its for insurance purposes. Admiral want a UK equivalent to refer to the underwriters.

Thanks.

There isn't a "UK equivalent", in as much as no UK car is 280bhp.

Admiral must already be insuring STi's, so can surely be able to quote.

Alternatively, try Footman James, ask for Gary Carlin (only him) and tell him I suggested you call.

Mark.

A P1 would be the closest match wouldn't it?

My insurance company rated my STI to its nearest UK equivalent ie. Impreza turbo 2000.

Which was nice as its a totally different car to the UK model (like a M3 is to a 328).

Sieze - sort of. There is the obvious power difference, but in terms of spec and components, the UK MY00 is based around an STI 4 (that's what I've been told anyway), so for your insurance company to compare them is probably right (not sure if they are aware of the power difference though )

Whatever they match it to - make sure they put the full model and version number on the policy. If not you could well end up in dispute if you ever try to claim.
