IMHO
I believe the Euro warranty is one year instead of three years i would imagine extending the warranty is not cheap if even possible so i suppose it depends how much a Subaru waranty means to you.
The Euro cars are the same spec as UK cars i believe.

From many Threads on here it seems to be slightly lower residuals on Euro Imports and lack of 3 year warranty, although a 3rd party warranty can be arranged. So really not a lot in it and probably as the models get older they will get closer on residuals. However each to his own opinion.

Your friendly dealer may offer to extend your warranty for you, approx cost 500 for another 2 years.
As I saved a heap on my car, when it comes to selling it, I would not lose to much sleep selling it for a grand less than UK cars.
However once its over 3 years old, then there is no reason they should not sell for the same.

To add to this, my car was a 2nd hand Euro import 2000 miles on the clock and had ITG filter and full scoobysport 'zorst including downpipe!!
I Still think it was a bargain.

We all know the cars are very nearly indentical in practice - appart from the warranty issue.
The known physical differences are:
1. A different Cat1 Alarm may have been fitted.
2. The IM extra-underseal job may not have been done.
3. The locking wheel nuts may be different
The only downsides are
1. That it may not be as easy to offer a Euro import to a franchised dealer as a trade in.
2. The service book will likely be in a foreign language.
[blatant plug mode on] I'm selling mine right now and my asking price is £2k-£2.5k less than main-dealer forecourt prices [blatant plug mode off]
In real terms, I think that you will be able to pick up a used 2-3yr old Euro import for approx 10% less than an equivalent UK supplied car.

MY00 - DBM. I love mine! Got a good deal on it, had absolutely no trouble, got it from the guy who went to Belgium to collect it.
OK, you don't get the 3 year warranty, but I remember reading a recent thread detailing the costs of getting one...which wasn't that much really. Besides, if you're looking at the old model like mine the warranty period is up soon anyway.
Have a look in the For Sale section - the MY00 DBM Euro import up in Scotland seems like a genuine, good deal.

Nowucme,
You might want to check as I believe that Belgian supplied cars did come with a 3yr (Belgian) warranty.
This is not be the same as the 'IM' warranty we get with UK supplied cars but it is still worth something

Got me a nice sonic blue 99 with not many miles on the clock, paid 12k for it, and it was (still is) in perfect nick, looked across internet, equivalent uk car at time cost 14999 (maybe 14k with haggle)
that’s 2 or 3 grand for my insurance, some mods and a nice tank of optimax,
AS for the opinion that its harder to sell?
well I don’t think it will be for a number f reasons,
1 when I sell it, it will sell for less than a uk car ( as I paid less for it)
2 I was quite happy to save 3 k so im sure there will be others happy to save
3 im keeping it for 3 years and by then i recon its value to be 6-7k the older cars get the less fussy people tend to be
I made this choice on financial grounds, I wanted a 99/00 and simply could not afford a uk version, so got an import, cant tell the diff, and I got me what I wanted for less

Just a point guys - According to CAP, they are now valuing UK spec European imports the same as UK supplied cars, provided that the spec is identical, and the insurance group is the same (ie. fitment of a suitable Cat 1 alarm). So, when selling, hold out for what is rightfully yours!
