Ok Guys,

Yet another Subaru is in my sights after the last one escaped

98 model with 73000 miles & aircon at £9995.

Question is, how does the scooby handle high mileages? (trawled the forum, but with the search not working...)

I do about 16,000 miles a year, so a couple of years down the line it will be pushing 100000 easily. Does anyone see this as a problem?

Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark I drive a MY97 wagon which has now done 110k ( ex company car ) with full Subaru history. They handle high miles really well. I have a mate with a MY00 which has done 20k and he has driven mine and agrees there is no difference between them. As long as the service history is kept up they seem to go on and on.
Regards
Jay.

I have an MY96 with 92,000miles on and it is as strong as ever..

But you have to think about re-sale value.. might be worth holding out for a lower mileage one or buying a slightly older one if that is your limit on money? so that you can get a better return on your money maybe.
Just thought...

sounds ok 2 me. I bought mine with 98k and a friend of mine had bought a brand spanker a few yrs earlier and said he couldn't tell the difference, I think as long as you have the full service etc. it shouldn't giv u any probs. The only thing I will say is that yr 90k service will come round pretty quick and I know from the bill on mine it was well into 4 figures - fortunately I didn't hav 2 pay 4 it.

Thumbs up

Ja,

Mines has done 29k now, and is a year old.

He's right there isn't hardly any difference between the two cars. You can tell that I have stiffer anti roll bars, but that's it.

Hope this helps, Cheers Phill C

Cool

Just one other point Mark, that price sounds too high if it is a private sale. Haggle!!
