Default brake pads

I've just had my car serviced and was told I need brake pads but can't remember if they said all 4 or not.
Do the front generally go first ?
Where's the best place to go and what make is recommended ? Are red stuff any good ?

Cheers.

you have 8 pads... 2 per wheel.

by saying four, could the mechanic not have just specifically meant the front or back sets?

The front does the vast majority of the braking and thus they tend to go first. Order some Pagid Blue from AS Performance and do the job yourself in under an hour with nothing more technical than some adjustable pliers.

Oh, and NO, Red Stuff aren't very good !

I don't think redstuff are bad though. Only had them on a month, not so great when cold, but definately stop the car, perhaps they just seem better as I am comparing them to the old worn out pads.

Whatever you choose, do the job yourself, it's not difficult, unless your piston is siezed!
