Please help with car tax..??

Default Please help with car tax..??

hi,
I remember reading something about the road tax was cheaper b4 2001 or 2, I've done a quick search and found nothing.
could someone please put me right...???
are all cars reg. b4 200? all cheaper to tax..???

cars before march 2001 cheap tax. look at parkers

Hya,

Just bought a 1997 type r, I was tod because I was the first owner in england and registered in 2007 I would have to pay the bigger tax is this right? because I have went on the dvla web site abd been quoted £189 for the year.

Nope,they go on when it was first registered so that would be 1997.

I've just taxed my '96 classic that was first registered in the UK in 2004 and it cost me the normal price not the higher amount !

If your V5 states taxation class as PLG then you are fine.

If it says petrol car then you will pay the higher tax

Got my new v5 yesterday,car was first registered in 2005,taxation class is PLG..so that clears that up
