Default Quick question about mirror

Hi All,

woke up this morning to find my glass on my mirror has been smashed. The unit itself is fine, looks like another car has knocked it as it's gone past. Is it best to get the replacement glass to stick over the top of it or a new mirror with the base plate to replace it completely. Does anyone have an idea of the costs for the base plate option.

Regards

Sanni

Not sure about the base plate option but just fitted a replacement glass over top of existing mirror on wifes old escort. The new glass comes with a strong adhesive backing so you can just press it onto old glass however I Had to use some External sticky fixers as there was a lip round the edge of the old glass so wouldn't have fitted flush. Got the glass off ebay for about £6 probably a lot cheaper than buying a replacement unit.

Maybe this is why they have folding mirrors on the new WRX
