if you run it on Tescos 99ron or V power (also 99 ron) you shouldn't have any problems imo.

depends on the rest of the history really, but i would imagine it was re built due to engine failure, or rebuilt to a higher spec? engines do fail and its not the fact of when it was re built so much as who it was rebuilt by and to what standard.

either way i hope you buy a great car, so good luck to you

I shall try and get to view the car 2nite, the mileage is 90k, standard bar exhaust and dump valve, dont know who rebuilt the engine until i get to see the reciept, if it helps i have the car reg, in case someone owned it on here.

I was told it was mint and when i got there it wasnt as mint, like the owner said it was. It put me off with it being an import ie history etc.

oh right, fair enough mate. well there are plenty of turbo 2000's around, there are even a few nice ones with sti engines in them. my advice would be to be patient. i wasnt and i over spent by a little bit just because it looked pretty but if you look at plenty you will know when you've found the right one. good luck with the hunt

There is a big difference between a STI and a UK spec car I would have a go in both before you make your mind up there are some good STI's about
I was looking for a WRX which is higher spec than a UK car but after reading most peoples opinions on the STI's that’s what I got and love it.

i would have gotten an sti if it wasnt for the insurers. uk spec can be alot cheaper to insure.

subaruturbo_18 thats another thing thats putting me off having an sti paying more for an import than a uk car. But we will see what happens just waiting to view a uk spec car sometime this week

I thought my old WRX was group 17 and my new STI is group 20 , both classic shape imports.

Cant see the WRX being group 20 is it?
