I remember there was a thread on here a while ago about the plastic clips rattling that hold the rear window in place.

Default My 07 STi also has a noise

On Over run my 07 STi resonates through the drivers rear window/door, had the door panel off a number of times with the wife booting it on and off the gas, putting my hands on all the metalwork & glass & can't find it.

On the rear window(outside)carefully lift up the top edge of the seal with the end of a zip-tie.Then with some WD40 and with the little red pipe on the nozzle, spray a good dose all along its length.

cured the constant creaking that I was getting....needs repeating every third wash or so tho

Its caused by the locating pegs on the rear window. You have to pull down the roof lining a little to expose the pegs and cut them off with a Stanley knife. One in each top corner of the Rear screen. I removed the rear seats, then the plastic trim/cover that covers the C pillar, pull down the lining and hey presto they appear. No more rattle.

They shouldn't refuse the work as the backbox has nothing to do with the warranty claim. I would advise that if you are capable of doing the work yourself then do it as the dealers may not fix it first time (they're usually rubbish at things like this). It literally takes around half an hour and is very simple to do.
