URGENT - HELP!
Hi
Just filled up the car with fuel ready for tomorrows Time Attack CC.
On way home car loses all power, throttle dead, no power steering, hazard lights worked though. Come to a halt. Switch off and switch back on and the car starts. Hand brake warning light on and battery light on.
Got back home. With the engine running there is 11.8 volts showing. With the engine off this goes up to 12.38 volts.
Engine bay has recently be steam cleaned, not by me though.
Any ideas?
TIA
Buck
PS I am still prepping the car, so wont be able to respond instantly to any suggestions / questions.
PPS Any qualified sparks going to Donny tomorrow I may have a spare pit pass for you!

I know some one who recently had a very similar experience and it was down to the speedo converter playing up..!
Howeve,r the speedo also packed up, which you haven't metioned.
Just a thought..
The other thing could be water ingress from the steam clean (where would be another question) how long ago was it done..? You could try a good dose of WD40/damp start around all electrical connections.

Did you ever get this fixed buck? I've had my engine steam cleaned 4 days ago, everything was fine and just today after i started the car my battery light went on and then followed by a parking brake light!

My mate who does valets as a living will never steamclean a subaru engine bay. even if you request him to he will say no. As its not advised to do so on these engines.
best thing to do is not to steamclean ya engine just get ya hands in and work hard.
