Unhappy Sod's law......

.....Or how I shouldn't have tempted fate.

I was well pleased this morning when the only thing my MY97 failed the MOT on was the worn rubber cover on the brake pedal - Result! I thought, and texted my wife (who's in Lapland) the good news. Imagine my horror when ten minutes later Tileys (the local Subaru dealer) called to let me know that I needed a new power steering pump. A snip at £370+VAT+1 hour labour to fit. @rse biscuits.

I only took it to them cos they're local and it was misfiring. What with a new coil pack and their "very reasonable" labour charges, it's gonna sting a bit.....

Still love the old girl though.

sod that, get a re-furbished one. Or risk a second hand one if things are really tight.

sounds about right mine went, on a p1.

tried a local'ish specalist and the only difference was the labour cost but as they were a little to far away and i ahev to get lifts there and back plus take time off work it was easier to let the stealer do it

Default I can beat your sods law

Just got my 05 wrx back from the dealer yesterday evening. Its three years old and out of warrenty, so ofc the 5th gear synchro packs up now. 3 days without it, and £1500 worse off (it had a service and MOT as well) I now get it back. Driving home tonight, some numpty can't decide which lane to get into at the traffic lights so decided (on a green) to sit and read all the signs. I get frustrated, drop it down a gear (probably way too low a gear) boot it round and low and behold the check engine light comes on.... Now I have the light perminantly which means a trip to the dealer AGAIN (although I couldn't recommend them enough). It had 2 new tires and front pads and discs 2 weeks ago, and poxy tax is due at the end of the month. So thats nearly £2.5k in a month..... ARRGGG did I mention the insurance is next month....

Sorry to hi-jack, just needed to vent some rage....
