Driving my P1 around Central Milton Keynes tonight I drove through a section of carpark where some of the blocks from the block paving were missing.

You guessed it, a dented 18" wheel and a tyre split in two places.

I'm not happy.

Can I claim from the local council for the replacement cost of the wheel & tyre?

Has anyone done so before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kurt

Sorry to hear about it.

No harm in trying to claim (and I would for sure)- but they will try and wear you down with inefficiency in dealing with it.

Go back in daylight and take photographs of the hole (diameter, depth) with a ruler against it for scale, for evidence.

Good luck!!

Thanks Dave for the advice about the ruler.

Fortunately, I never give up. However I'm also impatient so they'll hear from my Solicior before too long.

That normally gets things moving.

Wink

Fortunately today, the experience took a positive turn.

At 09:00 this morning I called Motorway Tyres in Northampton who located a 225/35 ZR18 P-Zero (Not easy) and came to my house at 11:00 this morning to fit it. EXCELLENT SERVICE

Been back to the scene - here's what I hit!

With 35 series tyres, there's not a lot of rubber available to soak this kind of thing up.

Regards
