Standing starts in a Type R.......
#1
HI
What is the best way to standing start in a Type R? By best I mean the best balance between quickest and a non-fcucked clutch....
All input appreciated as I seem to be crap at them (too mechanically sympathetic I think).
Cheers
Mike

I find that any quick standing start does the car no good, but then we have all got to enjoy ourselves. I find revving to about 4500-5000 and then slipping the clutch fairly quickly gives a good getaway. But atleast once you have to experience a full on start just to see what it is like. 7000 revs, and dump it - you can feel the whole transmission groaning at the load but it isnt half impressive. My clutch judders for weeks afterwards of course.

Cheers Trigger. I tried that in my last Sti before I sold it but this resulted in me spinning all four wheels for 100 yards down the road, which was impressive in a way I guess.
Wonder if I should wind the diff forward a notch or two on the Type R? Might find myself going nowhere of course.....
