Default M.O.T

Car has just failed the M.O.T on Emissions my O2 Sensor has gone anyone have any ideas where I can get one from A.S.A.P as my M.O.T is up today Help please.

Thanks for the reply m8.I wasn't aware that the car could fail the M.O.T due to the oxygen sensor being knackered does this sound right or no

A faulty o2 sensor could caus the car to run rich, however you could try unplugging it and send it for the MOT. Technically, the ECU should recognise theres a major fault with the sensor not being connected and revert back to the default settings.

A faulty lambda sensor can cause either fault, rich or lean.

Disconnecting it will not get it through an MOT, iI you remove the cat, you need to bypass the o2 sensor, however if i recall it still needs a friendly MOT station to do the MOT

All it will do, it send the engine into limp home mode, which will restrict the fueling and engine RPM to preserve the engine.

If you need a sensor in a hurry, Halfords stock them
