My adjustable alarm settings :-
If you set the high battery to 12 volts it will go off all the time as the alternator puts out well over 12 volts at peak load.
My car is mapped @ 1.25 - 1.3 bar so the alarm warns of spikes.
The radiator fans should cut in @ 96C - 97C so it going much higher could mean a problem.
When "playing" my oil temp hovers around 100C - 105C so I set the top end figure to remind me to ease up & let things settle down for a bit.
Mark
- Battery voltage low 9.5 volts
- Battery voltage high 15 volts
- Boost pressure 1.35 bar
- Coolant temperature 100C
- Oil temperature 105C

Cheers
I've also asked a question in Technical about how the knock correction is displayed.
I'm hoping that I'm right in thinking the unit displays retarded knock correction as a negative number, with advance being a 'normal' number?

The reason I'm asking this is that I usually pop a measure of Wynn's super premium into my tank fulls of V-Power. I'd forgotten to do this with my last tank full, so did it again last night. While I only noticed KC activity on wider throttle openings with 'pure' V-Power, I immediately saw the KC showing 0.5 on very small throttle openings, 1.0 on upto 25% throttle, and continued to show an increase above and beyond the KC figures from the V-Power alone.
Now as these are all positive numbers, I take it this is a good thing and the Wynn's is doing what its meant to do. I presume that the KC activity will decrease as the ECU learns the new fuel again?

I think the ECU advances the ignition as far as it can depending on octane level. So with octane booster it can go for a higher plus setting than it would for V Power on it's own.
If it senses knock then it will rapidly retard the ignition to a safe knock free level which is when you will see minus readings.
So in a way you have to trust the instrument as you don't really want to see minus readings just to know that it can do them.
Bit like when your flying you don't want to check that the altimeter would show below sea level when flying over the sea.
