Default Bucket seats, options, fitting, practicallity.

Im planning on replacing both the front seats with more hard core seats, I love mine and as standard seats they are hard to beat but think that they do fall down a touch when the gong gets tough.

Id like to get a set of Sparco seats ideally somthing like a sprint etc. But am not sure if there are direct replacement subframes that will still allow forward and backward adjustment, as I dont really want to have to bolt the items in a perminant position.

Anybody bought the same or similar, any pics would be great, also any advice??

Im going to contact a couple local dealers and that tomoro see what they come up with.

I have just started to look into doing the same to my Hawkeye WRX after seeing frazy new set up. ( have a search if you have not seen it ) any info you find out would be great …. There are some Prodrive Sparco seats available in the us that looked amazing no idea about the price tho or if they can be bought in the UK.

I would also love Prodrive harness no idea where I stumbled across them but they looked sweet … any ideas

I fitted the Sparco Pro 2000 seats to mine, base frames are available, but may need some alterations to fit.

Ok given up on the Prodrive seats “They are super light, coming in a just a hair over 21lbs. The seats are made for a smaller person in size and are very very agressive fitting” dam don’t think I would fit and 100% that my dad would never get back out of one ….

Back up plan to Prodrive up some sparco seats with these

personally think that the wrx set could be a bit more supportive. i remember getting in an old rs sierra cosworth and the seats were comfortable but alot more supportive. not the full bucket race seats as above but better than wrx

Default Sparco Pro ADV fitted - used subframe from old STi seat

Big seat and side vision is only slightly restricted - ensures I take more care at junctions (car only does 1,500 miles per annum, therefore side visability not a major issue).

Dismantled the subframe:

Rear fittment:

Front fittment:

Seat in position:

Seat is "fixed" for my position (i.e. runners do not work).

I find it much better to "drop" the steering wheel to it's lowest position, once I am sat and all buckled up.

Feels very snug and surprisingly comfortable (car not a daily driver).

- Would these be easy to fit, ie. take other seat out, put this in??
- Would they work with a belt, or would it have to be a harness??

bucket seats may work with normal belts, but may not cross the body correctly. if you fit buckets, fit harnesses.
