We set one up a couple of weeks ago, RC headers, 3 inch exhaust and re map with Ecutek gave 360 bhp and 390 ft lbs torque. Very smooth and powerful on light throttle settings, and a joy to drive.

Have you tried remapping a 2.5 sti PPP with no mods whatsoever.
If not, do you think a remap would provide any benefit?

My 06 STi with a decat and supporting mods made 360/390 (road figures not RR) when mapped by Andy F.

The standard WRX turbo wouldn't make that, but the STi ones does as per my post above. So either it was an STi or the turbo was upgraded.

Hence my question, I know that this is obviously the case, but the OP has a WRX and was asking what he can reasonably expect from a remap. No mention of a turbo upgrade..!

He could be seriously disappointed if he thinks in excess of 360 of each is possible..!

2.5 Sti's are making very impressive figures with decat/remap and a lot of wrx's too - presumably with a turbo upgrade. Not that I'm jealous or anything, but whatever happened to that chocolate pistons rumour?

Think Alan's mixing up his Sti's and WRX's by the look of things. Std turbo'd WRX would never get near that whatever the mods, and if run with the stock intercooler one with a bigger turbo wouldn't stay too happy.

yes its well worth remapping a stock car, apart from a fuel pump the one I did yesterday was just that (it was the Sti though), the WRX responds relatively as well.

Yes, Bob is correct, I scanned, and in my enthusiasm missed the magic wrx bit.
The STi was great however!

So, the 06 STi is on a VF43 turbo, but what about the 06 WRX, is it still on the TD04 ?

Also, is it true that the 06 STi intercooler is smaller than that on the 05 Sti ? ie is it worth getting a second hand blob intercooler ? (just making plans for the future ! )
