I have a P reg STI, recently imported and its still restricted to 112mph.
I was asked by a garage who will do the de-restricting for me to find out if its a cable attached to the gear box or if its electrics(coming from the speedo), so that they will have the correct part.
Is there an easy way to find out, ie model,year etc? the garage is 130 miles away so dont want to go there to find out they dont have the right part in stock, or how easilly can I look to check? I dont have a clue where I need to look.

any help would be appreciated.

it should be cable driven mate mine is and is also a p reg. I`ll get you a photo of what to look for though

i need to do this also,

i have a 95 n reg import. deffo cable driven so need the mechanical device these around 50 - 60 pound and take about 5 mins to fit.
