Proactive Trackers

Insurance up for renewal, having to consider fitting a tracker and seeking enlightenment from those who have them.
How do you tell the proactive tracking device that this is an authorised movement of the car? I'm guessing its another dangly thing hanging from your keyring, like the Sigma alarm key, that you have to press before you start the car.

Rac trackstar is hooked into the ignition / alarm etc, has a gyroscopic shock sensor on it, if say per chance someone doesnt have your keys and hotwires the car it automatically sends a distress signal to RAC headquarters who alert you, The Navtrack system has a dangly jobbie, where you have to touch the dangly guy to the point on the dash otherwise they ring you to tell you your car has been lifted.....
