Around the 330 mark, been running that sort of power for nearly two years now, broke the old gearbox within the first three weeks of power hike but fine since box replaced

Hybrid FMIC, 5Zigen exhaust, VF28 turbo, Ecutek remap, and loads of other stuff

Nothin special here, Tek3 remap, semi decat, JR panel filter = 265bhp / 272lb/ft, for about 1.5yrs now. Needed new clutch shortly after remap was the only extra expense.

ok thanks...the thing is im lookin to do modifications to my00 only if it dont sell by end of march and keeping it for good thereafter. the only thing that arouses in my mind is that will the internals fry up? ive read in many jap perf magazines how some people are running 1.4b of boost on a standard engine. so this puts me off if u knw wat i mean.

do u lot trak ur car or drive it moderatly? im a daily driver commuting work and back.

any ideas for wat supporting mods u reckon i would in ur opinion for me to reach 320bhp safely?

thanks

wow i have to say that is a satisfying write up. how long has it been after the remap? did u map it on standard ecu?

how much would you reckon a VF23 turbo is worth?

thanks

Had it remapped July 2006 mate. No problems whatsoever! Std ECU remap via ECUTEK.

No idea on the turbo's value I'm afraid, but I'd go for something like the VF35 which can be had for about 300-50 quid for a good un.

that what im lookin for but i would be happy with anything above 300, how long have you been running 340 for? my car has done 70k do u reckon it could handle it? i bought the car of an old guy who serviced religiously via subaru....but then again old people can be brutal with cars aswell lol.

btw wat is an oil cooler used for & wat is autotronics?

thanks

you will be happy with 300 for only soo long then its 350 then 400 its always the next bracket you want
i had 270 to start then went 320 but got 350 and i want 400 but cant afford it
this was with various models.

now back in a classic uk turbo which is what i started in

running, 2004 wrx engine, vf28, uprated header + uppie, full 3'' decat, spaced manifold, fpr, walbro fuel pump, hks rs induction kit + hard pipe, 550 injectors, hybrid fmic, apexi power fc, apexi avcr, think that i sit but may off missed something. just been mapped by bob rawle on sat, got a couple of issues to resolve. so no idea of power as yet but soon to be on the roller to find out

380ish at the moment, but will be jumping into the 400+ when the MD is fitted and mapped.

re tidgy spec oil cooler is used to provide further cooling for the engine oil, as it is better to keep the oil below 110 deg C especially if competing or high speed runs.

autronics is a ECU management system, others are Apexi, simtek, Motec, gems etc

Depends what power level you want VF35 340bhp capable turbo with the right supporting mods and quickest spooling turbo next to the std TD04 and the TD04 hybrid, which are circa 280 and 300ish bhp turbos, respectively.

Basically, you want to choose the smallest turbo that meets your power requirements.

Yeah would have to agree with you. However Stevebt has a very similar set up to mine and his made 486bhp at 1.5 bar at Scooby Clinic.

plus I'm nowhere near finished yet Injectors peak at 74% and the turbo is more than capable of 2bar+

Just need to sort the block out to cope with it.

Its not far off though as a mate has a proven 400 evo and I'm notably quicker than that.
