a second hand evo 6 is only £19k sorry might have to go for that....faster and 10k cheaper...

eh? sounds like BS to me, you just order a non-prodrive one, and then Subaru UK order it from Japan. It's not a limited edition so I think the dealer is trying to pull a fast one.

We have just picked up some of our UK spec. STI'S and they are GREAT . Really smooth and the gearbox is excellent.

Iain,

Are the import ones UK STis, ie with the UK badge on them?

Confused as to how you can get a UK STi from europe!!

Wink

The cars we picked up today are normal UK STIs our first prodrive car arrives in Feb .

The cars are the same as a UK dealers cars complete with European Certificate of conformity, 265bhp, UK stereo etc etc. The only thing they don't have is the little badge that says "Type UK" and as such we have made them a bit cheaper than the UK "offical" cars
We have even sold the first of our "Sports Performance Packs"

I dont want to sound like a salesman but what about the extra undersealing as i have been told that the uk has more and have to say as a current euro my00 owner the undersealing on my car is cr*p not enough coverage and blobby
also the uk gets trackstar and 1 years sub. and an alarm my euro didn`t get either
also the 3 years warranty (the euro one is cr*p i know from experiance) and the 3 years subaru asistance
when i bought my my00 i saved loads but compared to the current sti you have got to get a uk model and thats why i have ordered one

I have also ordered the UK spec as the reasons above.
Only thing I'm dissapointed with is that the prodrive version has no front fogs.
Cant believe we are being charged an additional £1500 for the car and they take the fogs away.(How much do they cost?)

The Performance pack includes:
Exhaust
ECU tweak (Unichip)
Eibach Springs
Anti Roll bar
Performance filter
Bumpsteer & Alignment

Still finalising the price, hope it will be about £1,600-1,700+vat

I would hope to see a good 30-40 bhp increase. We will know for sure soon.

Question

This may be incorrect, but I was lead to believe that the new generation Impreza did not suffer from bump steer and that the mod was not needed. Is this different on the STi?

So far the new generation has not needed any bumpsteer mods but the STI is being checked today. It will almost certainly need setting up properly as the alignment on the new models has been way out.

Ian, you say the alignment has been way out.
IS this a manufactering problem,in that they have not set it up correctly or is it a new setting from yourselves?

Matt give me a call (01242 260406) and I will tell you all about it

Almost all of the new generation WRX's that Powerstation have seen have had alignment that has been out, make of that what you will
They also put there own setting on them as well.

Never mind all the unimportant engine/handling stuff, does it have electrically folding wing mirrors?
