Default Advice on car: 96 Turbo/WRX (?) import

Hi all,

Just joined and still on the hunt for a wagon, taking my time though as don't want a dog.

Thanks to the members who have conatcted me so far.

Anyway, just came across this:

1996 SUBARU IMPREZA WAGON 2.0LTR TURBO MANUAL WRX+L@@K on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 14-Feb-08 14:29:52 GMT)

and here it is on their website:

Subaru Impreza 2.0 Turbo 4WD Estate Manual

now here are my questions:

- on one ad they say turbo/WRX the opther they say just turbo - which one is it?
- on ebay ad they say it has drivers airbag, but I wasn't sure if this model had one and can't really see from pics?
- has anyone dealt with this dealer before?

Thanks in advance!

Default wagon

my friends wagon u will not find a cleaner car.
42,500 miles £4,500

This is probably one of the most genuine Subaru WRX wagon/estates you will find with just 42,500 miles! It is a fabulous example, used as a 2nd car by mature owner (age 50) and maintained to a high standard!

Subaru WRX turbo 4 wheel drive car. £4,500 FOR QUICK SALE due to arrival of new car-another Subaru!

This car has been owned by me since it was purchased from a car dealer, as a fresh import, just over 3 years ago. Used as a second car it has only done around 3,000 miles per year mainly in the spring/summer months. It has been extremely well cared for. Specification is as follows:

ABS.
Air con (Serviced).
4 x electric windows.
Rear wash/wipe.
Split/folding rear seats to make a decent size load area.
Electric/retractable door mirrors.
Nardi leather steering wheel.
4 x Subaru badged car mats.
Rear tinted windows.

Tax and MOT until end of March 08

All receipts in file to prove the extent of the work carried out. This includes:

Laserline cat 1 alarm and immobiliser.
GPS Tracker device (RAC Trackstar) fitted.
STi gold Brembo 4 pot front brakes with 330 mm Brembo discs. (cost £1,300 to buy and big improvement over standard ones)
STi rear lights.
STi wagon high level colour coded rear spoilers.
Braided brake hoses all round (much safer).
Quick shift gear change/linkage.
Castor/camber angles set up front and rear to 'Prodrive' spec.
Full 'Blue Flame' de-cat stainless steel exhaust system. Not too loud but great sound.
17" Subaru alloy wheels and Bridgestone tyres.
Waxoil undersealed.
New rear drop links fitted.
Various poly-bushes fitted to replace tired originals.
Alpine quality stereo and JBL front speakers.
A1 grade interior with little or no signs of wear.
Clear indicators and side repeaters.
PIAA silicone wiper blades

The car has a standard engine but is fully serviced with a new cam belt fited at 34K, recent new battery, fuel pump and cam cover gaskets. Only sensible modifications have been carried out to help improve brake performance and handling.

Brilliant silver body work.

First to view and drive will probably buy as this car is such a fantastic, sound example with full history. £4,500. Price reflects the low miles, sensible mods, condition and quality of this car.

Genuine reason for sale. New STi RA has just arrived from Japan.

That car in the OP is worth a look, but since its a fresh import there will be no confirmable service history with it.

To answer your questions - because its a Jap import it is a WRX, i.e. a turbo model, non-STI.
The steering wheel is the usual Nardi wheel, a nice wheel but no airbag.
I don't know them, perhap those members in the area will know? worth asking in the club section - 2 Yorkie clubs to choose from!

cheers jay!

the investigation part of finding a car is the fun bit isn't it? (well apart from the driving it!)

will keep searching, but I think the general feel is that it's pretty flat this time of year.

cheers
