Default NPS (Netural Position Sensor)

Where can i buy a new one from?
Also, where is it located? I'm guessing its on the gearbox somewhere, is it easy to get to and change?

Thanks Phil

I had this replaced on my old WRX. Yes it is on the gearbox but I can't remember where . My local Subaru dealer did mine for £65 all in including the sensor.

Wolfie.

Sorry, I don't know but it can't be difficult. When I had mine changed it was done in 5 mins!

Can't be too tricky to locate - there aren't many switches on a gearbox.

On the STI 6-speed box it's located towards the back. It's also on top so you need to drop the box a couple of cm's to allow you to remove it. Not to be confused with the reverse switch.

I had my switch "modified" by replacing the original 2mm thick brass washer with a 1mm one which solved the vibrating on/off issue.

Mark,

What was the on/off issue - did you get the CEL light on, or was it something else?

No CEL.

Only spotted with DeltaDash when I was having the car remapped by AndyF.

If the switch is vibrating on/off then it causes the ACVS to operate incorrectly.

I had this problem. No CEL, but well down on torque as it stops the VVT.

It also became obvious on the Delta Dash with AF.

Was done under warranty in about half an hour.
