If Subaru felt the need to put one on i would replace it, what advantage is there in leaving it off apart from saving a bit of time

left mine off, fed up with dropping things in the engine bay to hear them land on the undertray but not be able to retrieve them without removing the undertray!! Oil temps also seem a little lower with the undertray removed.

Mines missing aswell, would of thought it keeps the bay a bit cooler but the oil filter does look a bit vulnerable! I'd put it back on if you have one.

There was a recent thread discussing the exact same thing - might be in the technical section if you want to check. Went on for a few pages too I think.

Lots of cars have undertrays fitted, so I'm at a loss of the actual reasons as why they are fitted.

Apart from aerodynamic (really? does a flimsy bit of plastic makes that much difference? ). Or is it to keep the underside of the engine bay clean?

I suppose one could say it may affect the air flow through the intercooler, but I very much doubt it.

Aerodynamics i guess, creating the correct airflow/path for the scoop and radiator maybe? Or what about protecting the underside of the engine from stones/plastic bags etc?

Ive taken both of mine off as there's no 'unshredded' bolts to hold it on!!!!

But i do agree, why would Subaru create one in the first place if they didnt need to?
