Default ebay sniper/s

what is wrong with some people? there i was bidding on a gearbox for my WRX and winning for 2.5 days. then in the last few seconds some ****** sucking leech sniped it from under me. i hope their ***** go green and they suffer for a long time before dying a very painful death.
the most annoying thing is that its either going to be a time waster or a f11king dealer that'll try to sell it to me for an extra £100 or more no doubt. the scum should be banned. or there should be a difference in when the auction ends (like 10 mins either way) to stop pr1cks like this ruining it for genuine people.

i try and bid at the end, as you are more likely to get it for a lower price.

but it is a risk, as you only have one shot in the last few seconds for 1 bid

How is this unfair if the highest paying bidder wins?

Maybe bid higher next time?

I only ever bid in the last 30 seconds for the most i'm willing to pay, if I win then i'm happy and if I lose then its gone for more than I think it was worth.

You can get a program that snipes at the last min for you as an automatic bidder, you just set the amount and away you go.

great... so most are leeching then? so whats the point of having an auction at all? total waste of my time for the last 2 days when i've turned a couple down as no one was interested in this one. or at least so it seemed. i've got better things to do than be messed about by the greedy and the system workers. like i said in the first post - there should be a floating end time to help stop this kind of BS and make it an actual auction instead of a last second mess about.

Is this a wind-up? Come on, you didn't really think you were going to get the item with a bid 2 days before the end of the auction did you
If you really wanted it you should have bid more.

Even if you was to bid more, someone would still bid higher than you in the last few minutes anyway. Buy it now items are better sometimes as you could end up paying more when bidding.

Hammersnipe all the way always works a treat 10 seconds before the auction ends.

As above mate, if you really want it yo have to bid what you are willing to pay. Some you win, some you lose. I've done it and ad it done to me. By bidding very high it does not mean that is what you will end up paying. Everyone is entitled to bid whether there are 10 secs or 10 days remaining.

It always used to really annoy the hell out of me too when people out-sniped me. Seems against the whole spirit of the thing. Then I thought, sod it, if you can't beat them, join 'em. JustSnipe: eBay auction sniper software offers free snipe every week works very well I find.

thing is guys i bid over 3 times what it was at with a couple of mins left. not a few quid or something. i genuinely thought it would go for half what i bid.
just a shame that a so called auction has been reduced to silly games.
as for people like jimboturbo - that shows where the attitude comes from.

Don't really understand where you're coming from mate.
1. Why are people bidding at the last minutes pr1ck$?
2. You seem to think people are bidding higher than you just to pi$$ you off

All a bit of a do over nothing imho

If you didn't win an item its because you didn't bid enough ??? It has nothing to do with someone beating you in the dying seconds

its not the getting outbid that bothers me. its the fact that the auction might as well be 3 mins long for all the good it is.
as for the "should have bid higher" lot - why allow more than 1 bid each if thats the case? it would be more fair to have just the 1 bid thinking about it.
and why bid with 1 min left unless you're purposefully trying to outdo someone without them having chance to bid back? thats the annoying bit. i can just picture some little keyboard ninja sitting there playing it like space invaders or even more feeble, letting a program do it for them.
its as though they're that desperate to save 10p they dont mind getting on everyone else's nerves to do it.
a bit like the sort of people that park in the disabled or child bays when they're on their own and have no problem walking. selfish, ignorant morons to a man.
what ever happened to people being reasonable? is everyone that skint that this kind of rubbish has to go on? why dont they work harder or get a better job?

exactly. like a game rather than an auction to buy things. anyone can do it (i could have if i thought it was going to be like that) - or i could just have bid a silly amount to win anyway - but its **** and not what the auction layout is intended for.

If you were selling i doubt you would be happy with your 1 bid theory.
Agree with the parking bay comments.

ROFL at this thread. i bid in the last few seconds too, and i can tell you, theres nothing worse than bidding in the last 10 seconds and your computer freezes for a bit and you are screaming at the screen and next thing you get 'BIDDING HAS ENDED FOR THIS ITEM'

you are supposed to bid the highest amount your willing to go,
why did you not do that in the first place.

the one bid rule might be a good idea

because up until 2 mins remaining i was the only bidder. it was at £50 and i bid £150. then in the last min there were 5 more bids. just totally unsporting and makes an auction pointless.
if i were the seller i'd be more annoyed that i could have had higher bids had someone not jumped in in the last few secs.
