Default Anybody drove the Stelvio Pass

Just read about this in a mag, and fancy the idea myself.

Has anyone done this and what was their experience is it worth it?

Thumbs up

It's not always sunny...

This was the view from the top a few years ago. Even though it was June, people were skiing near the top of the pass!

The best bit is hidden from view to the left of the picture, and is where there are about a dozen hairpins. We went over the pass on the way back from Italy to France, via Switzerland - was worth the diversion, although took us longer to get there than we thought it might. Just need to watch out for German cyclists going up the hill!!

Had the sheer pleasure of accompanying Ellie and Andy from AET Turbos and 6 other club members on our Stelvio trip. As Ellie says, the trip was pure driving pleasure.

We spent a week driving from Yorkshire to the Stelvio and back again, with the days spent picking open passes (or driving closed passes to see how far we could get up) and picking some private roads that were simply awesone for their views and driving.

Check out the several posts on our club area and stay tuned as more pics and vids get posted...

Happy to go over the route and tips for the drive (as we had a few learning curves... especially with the Swiss Police!!)
