maybe get under the dash and have a look at any fault codes that have been logged? there is a red "check engine light" (CEL) that comes up on the dash under certain conditions/faults. to see if there is anything logged in the memory or to ckeck what's up if it does come on get right under the dash near your knees (back of the head on the clutck pedal pracically!) and have a look up in all the wires for a disconected little black plug. plug them togeter, turn on the ignition (don't start the car tho) and the CEL will flash, the sequence of which relates to specific fault codes which you can find here... hope you don't need to for a while yet, but still usefull to know!
welcome along and keep us all posted with how you get on!
p.s. if you feel like sharpenning up the handeling once you get used to the car upgrade the antiroll bars and droplinks! not very expensive, easy to do yourself and massive improvemnts! Yes i'm telling everyone now!
