TEST DROVE THE MY08 STi JDM TODAY
I took the JDM MY08 STi out for a test drive he are some of the Pic's I took of it
The Car was a Prototype type 20 (still under developement) remapping the new ECU is far more complex than previous ECU's also still tweaking the suspension.
The 2.0ltr engines power was at 350bhp for running in. It really pulled strong, more low end torque compare to my MY06 Type 20.
handling was very excellent on the country roads would love to have a track ride in one, Although I didn't have chance to tweak the AST suspension for Track settings.
Driving posistion is nicer seems lower in the seat than my Car
The Cabin space seems to have much more room than my Saloon.
Suprisingly the boot space was bigger that i thought it would be folding rear seats give more flexabilty.
looks far better in the flesh and the rear lights have been fixed
so quite a few positive for me really, some of you doubters ought to try it before you knock it IMHO

That does look BETTER but i just can't get 'Mazda 3' out of my head everytime i see it.
You're right though, people should have a look at one in the flesh as it does sometimes change matters.

well well well it looks fabulous I must say having seen all the picture of the preemptive models etc this one looks really nice, and the tail pipes
I do think this will compete with the other hot hatches but they will need to sell them all in black
Nice review.

does look very nice indeed i think it would look better in white though as the black kinda reminds me of the Fiesta ST with the grey stripes down the side and the rear end for some reason.
Can't knock the car as its totally different from the previous shapes. Will be interested to what they bring out as extras for it. The rally wing will make a huge difference as the one on there is a little small.

Yes standard but the Miltek system on there is quite quiet should have no problems at Bedford IMHO
I found it hard not to jump on the "Hatch hate" bandwagon and felt a bit nervy before testing it, once behind the wheel it's great and to be fair looks good outside
TBH the boot in my Saloon is Sh1te half the rooms taken by the hindges and teh seats don't fold down so the hatch has very much grown on me

1) Been "Track" friends with Iain since 2000/01
2) He feels sorry for me with my Mental disorder (subaruitus)
3) no money changes hands either way
4) I drive his cars much slower than i do my own I've been quite happy to have just passenger laps.
BTW (I haven't bought any of my Subarus "Directly" off Iain, My T20 came indirectlty from a customer via Iain )

To change the subject slightly i saw a Massa GT on the road last week and it looked amazing in the flesh, so if the sti is has taken inspiration from it that can only be a good thing!

Saw it in the flesh when I was up at Litchfield last Friday having photos taken of my car to go up for sale on Iain's website. Didn't get to go out in it as Powerstation were working on it, but I must Iain has hit the nail on the head with the rear lights and the exhaust surrounds. Lovely looking motor but I will still only make the move when hopefully a Spec C or Type RA model is produced.

OK its starting to look better but not a fan of those wheel and the exhaust trim just looks like a halfords or Rover/MG special.
