The spec for the new WRX STi suggests that you get foglampcovers, but there is no indication that there will be foglamps under them. Top Gear Mag says there was nothing there when they looked. Anyone know the score?

I believe that the fogs are now built into the main light cluster, the rest is just for show as far as i know.

Question

One of the things that puts me off the new STI is the apparent inability to fit driving lamps. I had the Prodrive/PIAA lights fitted to my MY00 soon after I bought it, and would hate to give them up.

The Prodrive Style version looks like the fog lamp spaces are well and truly 'boarded up', but can the regular STI be fitted with driving lamps?

Andy.

Thanks Tony and the others for the info - seems a bit daft having the covers there just for cosmetic reasons.

I note the description 'driving lamps' - do the Police see them as having that function? I thought I read somewhere of people being 'done' for using them when no fog about?

Take the fogs out, replace them with driving lights & connect them to the main beam switch.

I would say there is nothing under the covers as when you look at the sites with interior pictures, they have a rear fog light switch and water spray switch but nothing else.
So unless they have moved the front fogs switch else where, I would presume it doesn't have any.

Thanks all - and particularly SiCotty. I've got one on order, so I'll find out in due time what's to do.

I have it on good authority from a fellow scoobynetter that driving lamps will be available for the Prodrive version, I presume they will be simliar to the ones featured on the japanese site as they will require new covers for the bumper.
