Default Slight Drone when changing gear.

Hi

I have noticed that when I give my car some welly in any gear when I change gear I can hear a drone noise only whilst changing gear, this doesnt happen if I change gear slowly maybe not on boost, I hope this make sense.

I dont know if this is a major issue, and I hope you can help.

Many thanks and you help is much appreciated.

Insert one of the following:

Wife
Girlfriend
Partner
Mate

Sorry...................couldn't resist. LOL

Sounds like bearing wear.

It may be something to dfo with the gears being disengaged, possibly the thrust bearing. When you disengage drive some components then spin freely and the bearings or rollers may be shot.

Not being an expert but having had a mate who had a similar thing with his car a while ago.

Age may be a factor so it could be wear and tear, gerabox issues are not cheap on a Scoob.

Thank you guys much appreciated,

I have tried a couple of things and its not when I change gear, if I am driving in any gear give it some welly and then just take my foot completley off the power it briefly make a droning noise,

I really have no idea what it is, I dont know if it can be heard from ouside of the car or just inside???

Many thanks,

Matt.

I am really stumped I have changed the dump valve today and the noise has stopped I am guessing it was something to do with this.
