I know what you are saying mate but its really what the car feels like to drive, thats the important bit not what the figures say.

that sounds pretty normal for a standard turbo, doesn't it?

That is a good torque figure, the power might be slightly low but it's the torque that makes the car fun to drive

With those mods, you'd need a JDM to achieve those figures.

In another thread on here, a guy got 340hp/330Lbft with just a remap on a bog std stippp with no mods.
The ppp headers, sports cat etc must be good enough anyway then?

Good torque figure in relation to the BHP. Mines a similar spec and made 286 Bhp @ the wheels. Mines still running the Prodrive Sports CAT though

Default 331/343 would have liked more

Is it that the torque isn't sustained for long enough which is giving the below expected BHP?

Mocom M8, your gonna need a few Mods to get to 330 Though IMO. Ported headers, CAI is always a good way to go

286 at the wheels would be fine.

dont get me wrong the car is a real hoot to drive now and i suppose figures are for the pub. the outcome was 343 allowing a 22% loss. shame about the loss.....411bhp would of been nice lol.

You should achieve that figure with just the PPP exhaust and the re-map?

I think those figures are very good, with the torque being slightly above normal for those mods.

Mocom'd

<<<<< VMS

At the OP, those figures sound good ! The nice torque result will make that BHP much more useable

Not in my experience u don't. I'm happy with what i've got now and appreicate i could get more by Decatting the downpipe but can't be arsed with the hassle come MOT time. As for the PPP Exhaust that was one of the first things i ditched as i found it to be restrictive and by changing it the turbo spooled up quicker and smoother

I've got a 3" Exhaust in mind, along with maybe some GTSPEC 2 Headers, and ultimately a MD321H, that should see me up to around the 400 Bhp mark at the flywheel. That should suit me just fine

decat, induction kit and a remap on the sti should see roughly 330bhp. but bear in mind the figures people say you will acheive from a remap are always best guess cos every car is different.

i know of a classic uk that once decatted and remapped wouldn't run more than 245bhp, same map on another car ran high 250's without even tweeking it

iirc the 04 sti doesn't have a VF35, possibly a VF28..?

My vf35 is running somewhere around 340-350, but that's definitely the top end..

Still the op's figures are bang on average with torque slightly higher, as already pointed out..

I'd say just change the turbo to something bigger, and remap, that's all.
