Penni

My service book says 30k or 24 months for Spark Plugs for the Turbo vehicles 15k for the others.

Question

Hi Guys
Could someone please enlighten me as I am confused...

I have booked my car in for it's 15k service next week and when I asked what they would be doing... oil change... brake fluid... etc and change the spark plugs... I thought the plugs were good for 60k miles...?? ... or is it because the car is WRX that might make a difference...

I'd be grateful if you could let me know as I think this would be costly and if at all avoidable a benefit.

Thanks
P

As far as I know the WRX has the same service schedule as a UK Scoob, and my plugs weren't changed until 45,000 miles.
I'd question it if I were you. Who's doing the work?

Stef.

Thanks Stef
I will check it... it's the garage that repaired the car after the accident... they were extremely good I have nothing but praise.. but not a main Scooby dealer .. but do share a plot with a Scoob/Evo importer therefore feel they should know what they are doing... also price wise they are extremely reasonable and fair as opposed to mainline dealership..... but my husband and I did wonder at the plugs ... I will ring them and have another chat.
Thanks
Penni

Penni,

From purely personal experience:

my baby (STi5) was just not starting as easily in a morning, swapped the plugs @ 18k (that's approx 18 months / 2 winters).
What I did notice was a MAJOR improvement in performance.

I'm convinced anyway - your call!

FWIW
Paul
