Got it for xmas and posted on here as well about it!
Agreed - It is an ace book.
Other's were disappointed it wasn't a tech-manual but IMHO that's missing the point - it's a great story about all aspects of the Scooby story.
DP.

(I put a link to it on my website and have made a whopping £3 in Amazon referals, I guess Im on my way to .com millions!)

My copy was also an Xmas gift, requested of course!
I agree with all of the comments so far, but must say I was a bit disappointed with the lack of technical detail especially when the title claimed it dealt also with modifications. That last chapter was a pathetic excuse that appeared to be nothing more than the guy spending a couple of hours surfing thru all the threads here on Scoobynet. I was really looking for some critical review of what can be done for what benefit and what the best options might be for say fast-road use. That would've saved me all the ****ing time I spend crusing this BBS. Looks to me like there's still a market for such a book. Hmmmmmm
Good read, nice summary of all the models etc, and some nice little personal touchs that made it am interesting Sunday-afternoon-in-front-of-the-fire read.

Funny someone has posted a topic on this subject because I was about to do the same.
I was reliably informed last week by a freind that there was a picture of my car featured in this new Haynes book.
It's supposed to be about a third of a page and is of my car going around a roundabout (Red MY93 WRX).
I was chuffed to bits when I found out, but have yet not got hold of a copy.
Is it possible if somebody could confirm this, just so that I know it's not a wind up.
If it is true, I'm now worried that it's showing my car registration for all to see!!!. The picture I believe was used in a photo shoot I was in for Japanese Performance Magazine.
Are they the same company? Can Haynes publish my reg No. without my permission?.
Comments welcome.
Also I'm after a favour from someone, seeing that I haven't got a copy yet, could somebody scan the page and email in to me, pretty please.

Got this book off the missus for Crimbo, good overview of the Impreza and its associated history but I agree its not a technical book by any stretch of the imagination ... a must though for any enthusiast!
Chris L - give me a shout when you want to borrow it.
Harry-Boy - yes, it is the same Chris Rees that edits the Car Import Guide.

I thought the book was OK - I learnt what all the models are about and a bit more about the technical development.
But....
It was shallow for me in most areas apart from the model development. Rallying bit I thought especailly poor, too much
'in 1995 Colin was 5th on the Monte, and finished 3rd on the Safari after a long hard drive'
All the results could have been bunged in an index to leave more space for analysis.
The rather leaden style of writing grates after a while.
But, so far as I know, there's nothing else, so it can't be all bad

Drumsterphil,
Received your email, thanks very much
Size is fine.
Mole,
Thanks for displaying the pic.
It is my car, it's one of the many that were taken by Japanese Performance magazine, It's a shame really because the picture they have chosen isn't the best one that was taken on the day (Well that's my opinion anyway!!)
So what are your opinions on them displaying my Reg No. then, can they do this?
Muddy.
P.S - It's another claim to fame I can add to the list.
1. Japanese Performance Magazine Article
2. Duke Video - The history of the Subaru Impreza
and now the Haynes Manual on the Subaru Impreza.
This must add a bit of value to the car now !!!
