Reminder - Autosport International Show
I just thought I'd post a reminder that the Autosport International Show is on at the NEC on 12th and 13th January (Public days).
Autosport International : The Racing Car Show 2008
For those that haven't ever been - its mostly motorsport orientated, but obviously fast road and track tastes are covered! Prodrive, RCM, Subaru, Exedy, AET, AP Racing, Brembo, GEMS, HKS and more have "real" trade stands there with people who actually know what they're talking about; rather than the idiots you often end up talking to at more.. 'street'.. related shows!
If you have mini-me's - if they are over 1.50m tall, they can have a go driving a duel-control Mercedes Benz A-class that Mercedes World is taking along - but if they have sensitive ears I suggest getting them some ear defence for the Live Action Arena show as a bunch of WRC and Drift cars tearing around inside an enclosed space is pretty loud!
Also you get the chance to get close to some awesome race cars - the Le Mans display last year was so arousing I almost fainted.
It's also going to be the UK debut for the new STI and the Evo X.
Entry into the competition to see how many SWRT shirts you can count is entirely optional
It also gives you a great chance to increase your collection of toy Imprezas extremely cheaply - there are some real bargains to be had! I know everyone has a collection. Don't pretend otherwise.

I'm still debating whether to go or not, we go on the Thursday or Friday and the main reason for possibly going this year is to see the launch of the new STi as my Dad is considering one as his next car (if he can get over it's looks)

Immobilise your car physically (as well as electronically) if you decide to take something fancy or cherished:
NEC is rife for car crime. And you pay £8 for that privilidge.
Just a warning.

Wouldn't say it looked as bad as the pictures i have seen( surpose i am getting used to it) drove ok not as hardly sprung as my STI, wing mirrors eem a bit on the large side compared to previous Impreza's. My only concern is the size of the boot seem small against the current model.
I am going on Thursday as i have managed to get a trade pass & again on Sunday with a mate.

Dont know if this has been posted, but Prodrive are going to be building a Group N Impreza live on stage.
Taken from Prodrive - prodrive
Prodrive will be creating an Autosport International first by building the new 2008 Impreza Group N rally car live on its stand during the show.
Starting with a bodyshell, build of the car will start at 11am on Thursday 10 January and should be complete by mid-afternoon the same day. It will then be disassembled ready to be rebuilt on the Friday, at which point it will remain as a fully finished car ready to rally.
The show will be the international debut of this new car, the Subaru Impreza N14, which is homologated on the new five door Impreza STI. This road car will also make its UK debut on the Prodrive stand when it is unveiled on Thursday morning at 10.45am.
Sounds great

I assume you get entry to both the Autosport & pistonheads show regardless which web site you book your tickets from?
Also, does anyone know where seating sections A,B,C are situated in the live action arena? i.e. B in the middle etc??
