Depends how much cash you have mate, I use Swissol Carnuba Wax, costs about £125 per pot, but god it's good!
Sounds expensive, but I only ever need to wax my car 2 or 3 times a year, to keep it protected.
I've had the same pot for about 3 years, and I've still got more than half left.
It's on a totally different level to anything like AutoGlym etc, trust me, I am loyal to Autoglym, Meguires etc, but for wax, nothing IMO beats the Swissol Carnuba range.

AutoGlym all the way ...... bodywork conditioner, then a light T cut, Resin Polish ............ finished off with Extra Gloss. This only needs to be done twice a year and then the bodywork conditioner looks after it each weekend
Costs a damned sight less than the Wax stuff at ££££££££££££££££'s per pot and does just as good a job!

Bodyshop grade products are the best (3M/Farcela), pretty much all of the off the shelf stuff contains silicone (autoglym, merguires sp etc.) and is ****.. Yes its easy to apply and you get good results but it builds up nasty residues..
Personally I use 3M finesse-IT, and Farcela TopWax.. The car was preped with a full mop with G3 compound and sealed with hand-glaze before the polish and wax.

Pound for pound Autoglym super resin polish and extra gloss protection are heads and shoulders above a lot of the fancy names. You can keep your t - cut though craaaaaap.
Use a good quality shampoo, lube! & claybar to prep the car first, t-cut is too abrasive.
I shift between Megs, Poorboys and Autoglym as the fancy takes me.

I have tried many........... from Halfords own rubbish to decent quality products recommended from Polished Bliss and in reality I cannot tell much difference in anything I have ever used.
I am currently using Blackfire at the moment which is no better than the Poorboys I was using Lsat year ?

The Dodo Juice range is hard to beat on price and performance.

I have Swissvax (previously Swissol) Best of Show (£119) and Zymols Concours (£164) and I wouldn't swap my Dodo Banana Armour (£32.50) for them.

Every car Ive had I have had compliments on its shine, and thats long before lambswool mits and clay bars came into mass production.

Swissol/Swissvax here, like Mikey says expensive but worth every penny. I use Shield wax with PTFE built into it, works just like a none stick saucepan, things fail to stick to the paintwork. Around £80 a tub but that lasts 2-3 years with average useage.
Oh and dont forget the Pre wax stuff and if you really going into it in a big way the Paint rubber (Clay bar)

Started using Chemical Guys stuff, used Megs for years but tried CG and couldn't belive the difference.
I use CG XXX Hardcore Paste Wax ( i know, not joking either) followed by Acrylic Glaze II. My car is bright red and the depth/wet look really lasts.
Plus both products are only about £12 each from Clean Your Car - car care products UK
