Just rang my local dealer to book in my MY01 for 1st 7.5K service to be told that Subaru have now changed their policy to service at 10 K intervals.

All existing service books will be sent off and replaced with new ones showing the interval at 10 K by dealer when you have 7.5K service.

This is taking this **** a bit as it does not need to be done untill 10K.

Has anybody been told the same?

I will leave it untill nearer 10K or just before I go to Catalunya.

Have a read of these 3 technical threads, with contributions from some of the best techies on here. It may change your mind on how often you change your oil and possibly the grade of oil too.

Oh you'll need an hour if not more.

Gazzer,

Yes, I was told the same after I called 2 dealers to confirm. This was also discussed on IWOC:

10k or 12 months: Essentially an interim service, with oil and filter
change, labour est. 1.5 hours

Question

Tim/Gary

Where did you see, or where were you told this?

I have been told that it does not apply to MY01 cars only MY02. I know its the same engine/transmission but there you go.

Would be nice to hit my dealer with this if you could tell me which dealer told you etc..

Thanks

Nathan..

Nathan,

I got this confirmed by both Quenby and the Welch Group. I was also told, the dealer where you bought the car from will be able to swap the 'old' service book for the new one soon.....
