has anyone any adive on this regards....
- size ie width of hose and depth of silicone (3mm-5mm etc etc)
- what sort of temperature tolerance it needs for the little piddily pipework all round the engine bay
- what i can actually replace with silicone to make it look better
- any other advice so as not to f**k things up.
any pics welcome to as inspiration.

On my newage I bought about 3m of each 3, 4 and 5mm and just got cracking. The only thing that is worth checking is that you transfer any restrictors and one-way valves in the hoses as you do it. Also some bits have flow directions on arrows, make sure you note which way round they go.
The rule I used for which cables was, if it's rubber it can be silicon.

Most of the thinner vacuum hose is not exposed to any sort of extreme temperatures directly. I used SAMCO stuff as it wasn't much dearer than the ebay stuff, and silicon should have better heat tolerance than rubber. I've run the car with oil and water in the 90's after some spirited driving and never had a problem.

They'll be for somewhere at the back of the engine where you can's see them unless the car is off the ground, or the engine out, most likely.

i would recommend them to say theyre about 1/2 price of samco.
im gonna have a mixture of autobahn88 and samco, as i got the stuff when it was going cheap on the off chance. not had any issues with the autobahn stuff as of yet and had the coolant set fitted about 2 weeks.

When i changed my coolant hoses i had those 2 that you got left. the bendy hose replaces the one close to your idle control and the other hose is above the inlet manifold close to where your induction hose goes under (bit hard to explain and dont think ive got any pics), thats providing you got the right hose set for your car mind

It might be worth swapping that connection to the carbon canister back.
Still, I could be wrong....

I've got this nagging doubt that silicone tube isn't normally too healthy around Petrol/diesel etc. (it grows/weakens...) Maybe the under-the-bonnet stuff is specially formulated. However, I've only seen coolant and turbo hose sets.
It might be worth swapping that connection to the carbon canister back.
Still, I could be wrong....

Go a photobucket account (Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket) or similar and then load up the pics and stick the link in a thread.

The bendy hose is to the right of the intercooler hose.. the straight hose is to the right of the coolant tank and the other hose is the 1 going from the rad to the bottle behind the n/s headlight [IMG][/IMG]
