Default Is this any good?

If someone good shed some light and probably save me from wasting some good cash, will this fit on my import 96 wrx ? GENUINE SUBARU IMPREZA P1 PRODRIVE STI INTERCOOLER TMIC on eBay, also, Subaru, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Dec-07 10:58:18 GMT)

and if so will it improve anything? i dont fancy a FMIC due to all the work involved.

Thanks in advance for your knowledge and help

I dont think it will fit a 96 without modification because i got a 99/2000 intercooler for my 98 sti and that wouldnt fit because of the different inlet manifold layout

You'd be better going for a V4 sti intercooler. IIRC it should go straight on. I'd ask the question on here if I were you, just to make sure. There should be plenty of them (V4) around - check for sale on here.

If the V4 STI intercooler does fit straight on where could I buy one from new as I really don't want to purchase anything off here.

Would it give me any extra performance?

The end tank is slightly bigger, but I didn't notice a difference when I fitted a 99 sti intercooler to my old 99 uk turbo. Just looks nicer!

It won't go straight on as it's bigger then the one you have now (it's still the slanted one on your car isn't it).

in the picture the at the bottom of the intercooler (lhs) will need to be blocked off, brackets possible made and it will be a tight fit as there will be very little space to get the bigger tmic in.

Your car has a slanted IC, the PI (which is identical to the stock UK turbo at the same age except for the paint) is straight and won't fit without a lot of monkeying around with brackets and pipework etc!
