Whos getting the new STI when it's launched?
So, here we go then....who is going to get the new STI when its launched?
Also, whats the general feeling about it's looks, power, spec etc, etc?
I'm not sure about it....but think it will be worth buying.

It's a GREAT car and if the STi is softer I may be tempted ..... the old STis were simply too raw, to hard, to be 'everyday' cars - they were also silly money!
The new STi will be £24,995 OTR - thats a bargain for a 300BHP sleek machine.
BUT, I would need to factor in 18-20 mpg at maybe £1:30 a litre!!
Also into the mix is the promise that Car Tax Group G will increase from £300 next year to £1000 .... and more!!
Insurance will be steep, Group 20 I guess?
The above will mean that the depreciation will in all probability be horrific ......
So, if I decide to keep for 8 years it may be a goer .... but, my Classic does pretty much the same job and is losing no more money, it costs much less on car tax and returns me 30 mpg.
For me, I love the car ....... I have the money, but - and it's a big but - is it worth the cost? Only I can answer that and I may well have one next April ... but my heart never over-rules my head, so maybe not

When my local dealer sent me their sales brochure including the new Impreza some months ago my first thought was 'Hold up, someone's been playing with photoshop and pasted a Toyota Avensis on here'.
Next year's car has got about as much charisma as Quasimodo after a night on the Guinness. The road test reports haven't been particularly inspiring either. I feel that what has up to now made the Impreza a 'special' car along with the Evo is it's difference from every other kind of car, built for a purpose(go from a to b in all conditions as quickly as possible NOT as the crow flies) from what is essentially a simple rugged car with only modifications which serve that purpose. Simple, raw, effective tool at a good price.
The new car flushes that individuality straight down the pan. By softening the car in every way possible, it is now competing head on with the likes of the Leon, Golf, Focus ST etc and 4-wheel drive isn't half the novelty it once was, particularly when viewed alongside the Subaru's truly appalling fuel figures.
I would add that the STI looks OK, but that's ok in the same way a Golf R32 looks ok. Which would my money go on?
Probably the EVO now.
