WRC challenge - mini league/forum?
#1
If this has already been taken-up then my appologies, but my quick search of the 'relevant' forums would suggest otherwise.
I imagine, that like me, a number of you have signed up for the WRC challenge on the PS2.
If so, how about we set up a 'Scoobynet' mini-league?
Not only will this allow Impreza owners to compare each others abilities, but this could, possibly, also provide some 'high-profile' for the Scoobynet community!
Sorry Moderators for putting this in 'General' but I wanted to make sure it got some exposure!!
Your thoughts??

Good idea Phil
Not sure how you set it up, but feel free to set-up an official scoobynet team (assuming that's possible)..
but.. DON'T LET US DOWN!!!!
all the best
webmaster
PS. I won't be able to join in unfortunately (or fortunately for the rest of you!!! )

OK the team name has been set up. The details are;
Team Name: ScoobyNet World Rally Team
Team Code: g65M52J
If you wish to join the team then select "Existing Team-Name"
on Registration and enter your Team Name and Team Code as provided above. The web-site is www.wrc.com
I'm not sure what the situation is for people who have already registered; To create the team I had to re-register under a different e-mail address. I will send an e-mail to the WRC webmaster to see whether there is a chance for people to edit their existing details.
Good luck
Phil

I'll try to join later tonight.
But like some others have already said, cannot guarantee
that my efforts will make the team any better. Haven't
yet managed to actually win a single rally at professional
level. Getting very close though...

I emailed the people at WRC.com about moving my existing registration. They told me to email SCEE, which I did and got no reply.
So, I've created a new email address and added it to the Scoobynet team. Interestingly, following the instructions on their page, I couldn't use the given code for that team name. I used the team name and left the code out and it accepted.
Until more than one of us has posted a time, I won't be able to see if I am actually in the right team
Will have a quick go tonight and see what I can get just to post it up. If it all goes poo, I'll just go back and use my original registration.....
It's a bit pants that you can't amend your details don't you think?

Just reregister with a different 'driver name', you should be OK.
Has anyone tried this and compared their times against those already on the leader board??? me thinks people are using somekind of cheats

I can't try until after 6pm Seeing as though you have to send your memory card in.....wondering if anyone has developed a save game editor
I would imagine all the cheat codes don't work in this mode? Might be worth trying anyway
Testing out the upside down camera one the other day...for some reason, I managed to post a faster time upside down on one of the legs than if the camera had been the right way up

The faster cars one is Spoiler Alert
EVOPOWER
Makes the cars drive at mental speed though. The only other ones I have unlocked so far are, WIBBLYWOBBLY which makes it like you are driving through water, and ONTHECEILING which is the upsidedown camera one.
Just a few more professional rallies to finish, but now time is going to be spent competing

Disco,
Are you forced to turn off the driver aids in this mode ?
I play with just the speedo/tacho enabled. Everything else I leave up to my hapless co-driver
I wonder how many people at the top of the leaderboard are playing with the map and arrows turned on ?
Also, I have noticed that turning the force feedback (ie annoying bumps) off reduces my stage times (using GT FF wheel).
Can't give it a go for another hour or so until I get home
Andrew.

Well I ain't afraid to post my times....
Just had two goes, first got 6:24:00, second 6:19:08 Can't see where I can lop 16 seconds off I know in the manual it mentions using short cuts (I think)....
Will have to have a recce and see if you can miss out whole corners
Doesn't bode well though
Might try with my wheel sometime over the weekend.....
For those interested, breakdown was
Stage 1 : 1:54:72
Stage 2 : 1:19:60
Stage 3 : 3:04:76
I'm losing time on the last leg of each stage....just can't get fast times on any leg 5...any ideas?

OK heres my new best time....6.16.38
1st Stage....1.54.06
2nd Stage....1.18.08
3rd Stage....3.04.24
I really dont see where 13 seconds plus can be gained, unless you have the Enigma machine to decode the time codes

Well I managed to get down to 6:17? and the only place I can think where time is really lost is on the hairpins on stage 3
Buggered if I know how to make 14 seconds up though....
Couldn't find any short cuts either...but I did manage to completely knacker my motor looking for them

Lucky you who can actually get the stupid web site to do
something... It is so slow that you can get a cup of coffee
between clicking the links and even then it most of the time
just does not work...
Hate when they screw up a perfectly good idea with a web site that
is just so much bells and whistles that it falls down under its
own load.
