Default fitting an STi8 intercooler to a WRX

I've purchased one and its ready to go on, so whats the procedure?

Is it a simple case of unbolting the original and just putting the sti intercooler on

Really just a matter of undoing a couple of bolts and a couple of jubilee clips.

Hopefully you have the red rubber "Y-piece" from the STi. Take care not to damage the narrow pipe on the left of the intercooler (above the turbo), as doing so will **** up your boost.

Really its a bit more than that. WRX undertray on bonnet will not fully feed STI intercooler and will prob throw hot air into it. You need to adapt undertray to seal STI intercooler so it only receives cooled air from bonnet scoop. I did it and was quite amazed at increase in ponies!

Only on the earlier models. And the coil pack mount has to be modded on MY00.

Straight bolt on for Blobeyes though.

I obtained the part number for an 02 STi scoop undertray by using the engine no & reg no from someone off of here. It fitted under my 01 WRX scoop, perfectly and without modification.

Couple of knuckle scraps but a piece of wee wee, try and get the pink y pipe too.

Got up to 269BHP/334Nm with a map, filter,3 port and the IC at PS.

STi undertray was £30 from Jap Performance Parts : Home next day delivery if they are in stock.
