Default my project

I have decided to take the car off the road this winter and go all out in it he good people at ai autosport in northern ireland are for doing the work.
at the end off this i hope till have a p1 with 700+ bhp. Me and AI autosport team having being planning this for the last couple of months it finnaly took place on saturday when i dropped the car off.
I got the car back today with the engine out ready till do my job wat i plan till do is put it up on the two post ramp where i can strip eveything off it from suspenshion arms till subframes well actually anthing underneath the car which can be powder coated or polished. As they are getting done the car will be getting a fresh lick of undrseal to freshen it up. When i come till rebuild it i have a full set of polybushes a set of hks coilovers and a new nuts and bolts for everything under the car and.
The car will then be going till the bodyshop till get the few blemishes sorted in the paint.
Then jonny will gets his hands on it till put the new engine back in

The spec so far we have decided on wil be
roger clarke closed deck block with bronze piston liners
2.2 stroker with custon made pistons and crank
garret gt4088 twisted turbo kit (capable of 800 bhp)
autronic sm4
heads port and polished with cams
uprated cooling system with aluminum radiator
looking in to uprated injectors out of mazda rx7
6 speed gear box strengthed
when jonny has decided on the full list of parts i will post them up

for the interior i hope till flock the dash and maybe door cards for the true rally car feel and recarpet the inside with carpet simallar till a 2006 sti

cant wait till this is finished

I think an admin can move it or just copy the text and paste it into a new thread on the project forum

got the car back from them last week and after a great weekend at coolnights me and mark set of stripping the rest of the bits of the car this evening did not think we would manage till get so much done.
We started off by putting the car on the two post ramp and getting the wheels of and removing the exhaust system

Then we started at the rear of the car by taking the calipers off the the disc we then removed each suspenshion arm so we could get the hubs off. Once this was done we started with removing the diff and rear drive shafts and prop shaft then the sub frame was dropped out. Then we moved on till the front of the car where we basically did the same, apart from we had till drop the gearbox out and the steering rack this was the tricky bit just cause of the weight.

some of bits that we took out

Things that are still too be done are removing the suspension and air con and other brackets. then i will give it a proper clean under neath and fresh lick of paint.
Was thinking of powder coating all the suspension arms and subframes sti pink wat you think

Looking good mate, make it look easy; like the idea of powder coating the chassis parts.
