I'm in the Gang at last
Well readers i'm finally in the gang i pick myself up a Black 04 STI PPP tomorrow night and i carn't wait, it's a bit of an upgrade from my Toyota Corolla GTI (which is for sale, no m.o.t or tax though). The only bummer is i'm working all frigging weekend which means i can't go out and play, i'm looking forward to my first weekend with it as i've got a mass cleaning programme penciled in (weather permmiting), after which i'll put some pics up, i carn't wait till tomorrow night.

I've owned my corolla for nearly 8 years and tbh the scoobys got alot to live up to in terms of reliability, in all my time with my corolla apart from normal consumables like tyre's etc, the only other thing i've had to do is change a wheel bearing. It handles really well aswell for a 15 year old car, it's been a great car and i'm going to be sad to see it go (i know it's only a car). But it's on to bigger and better things. It's took me so long to get a new car because i went down the motorbike route and although i really enjoy riding, even at 27 i carn't afford fully comp and after crashing and losing so much money on my last bike as i was only TPFT, i decided to give it up till i can afford fully comp, and after being had by a couple of scoobies on the twisties i thought this is the car for me.

Same experience here. Owned mine for 10 years a did over 200K miles. Only had to replace a front wheel bearing and the ignition coil over and above consumables in all that time. Screaming little engine that used to bounce off the limiter at 7800 revs in all the lower gears. Looked like an ordinary, bland Corolla apart from the two exhausts. Only mod was upgraded brakes. Don't expect that sort of reliability from a Scooby.

Welcome to the group. Good choice of car and colour too.
You'll find, with a few hundred squid thrown at it, the negative parts can be corrected to make an awesome drive.
Get them pics up.

Yeah i know i've got a few things that need doing, it's got a scuff on the rear bumper and a few scratches around the rear door handles and a couple of the wheels are kerbed but nothing serious, like you say, i've got a few hundred quid to throw at it when the weather improves and i'll get it all sorted. and hopefully get it mint again.
